Student and resident essay contest

Each year the Nominations and Awards Committee hosts a rural essay contest for medical students and residents. The winners' essay will also be considered for publication in the CJRM.

Student: Please submit a non-fiction essay with rural elective theme.  
Residents: Please submit a non-fiction essay about their rural experience.

Rules :  Students and Residents must be a member of the SRPC and the length of the essay should be between 500-1000 words. PDF Ad Here
Deadline for submissions is DEC 31, 2017

Prize: $500 (students) and $1000 (residents) credited towards the cost of attending that year's Rural and Remote Medicine Course. Eligible costs may include registration, travel to and from the conference, as well as accommodations and social events.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All event cancellations must be made in writing by email to info@srpc.ca.
  • Full Refund (less $75 admin fee) will be granted if notification is received by March 6th.
  • 50% refund will be granted for cancellations made between March 7th and March 27th.
  • Refunds will not be granted after March 27 but we will transfer the balance (less $75 admin fee) to another SRPC event or SRPC membership.
  • Deposits are non refundable but are transferable to SRPC Membership.
  • Social tickets are non refundable but may be transferred to a student or resident.
