I am a full-scope rural family medicine locum, working mostly in BC, exploring in search of my long-term rural home. My practice includes family practice clinic, ER, OB, hospital inpatients, and long-term care. After growing up in the Lower Mainland of BC, I did medical school at UBC in Vancouver, and family medicine residency in Nanaimo with enhanced rural experience in Vanderhoof, BC (2022). I also completed the Nanaimo Emergency Education Program for rural ER skills in 2024. I love the endless variety, challenges, and opportunities of rural medicine, where I can make a real impact on people's health. The community and connectedness has drawn me from my urban upbringing to a rural future. Outside of work, you can often find me biking, hiking, cooking or crafting.
I am excited to be chairing the First Five Years in Practice Committee. I look forward to expanding and furthering initiatives to connect and advocate for early career rural doctors. One of the key values of the SRPC has always been the relationships and support it provides, and I hope to ensure it continues to provide this, and more, for those of us starting out. If you are interested in joining the committee and/or have ideas of what we can do to support you, please reach out to me at ffyp@srpc.ca!
