OBJECTIVES
The goal of this webinar is to:
1. Compare the different prenatal genetic screening modalities in Ontario in terms of various factors such as timing, components, performance and OHIP coverage.
2. Review the appropriate prenatal referral indications and the referral process to the Genetic Counselling Services of Health Sciences North (HSN GCS)
3. Describe the genetic testing/prenatal diagnosis options that may be offered to your patient through HSN GCS
TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians, midwives, nurses, and nurse practitioners who care for pregnant individuals in the catchment area of the Genetic Counselling Services of Health Sciences North. Please note that as of October 2021, the catchment area of Genetic Counselling Services of Health Sciences North includes Cochrane and James Bay and Hudson Bay Coasts.
The following sub-regions are now covered by Genetic Counselling Services of Health Sciences North:
· Algoma
· Cochrane (as of October 2021)
· Nipissing/Timiskaming​
· Sudbury/Manitoulin/Parry Sound*
· James Bay and Hudson Bay Coasts (as of October 2021)
*Parry Sound is not formally in catchment area, but referrals are accepted
