Almost 200 Rural Physicians Across Canada Have Applied For The National Advanced Skills And Training Program for Rural Practice.
Do not miss this exceptional opportunity to advance your training while positively impacting rural healthcare. Almost 200 rural physicians across Canada have applied for the National Advanced Skills and Training Program for Rural Practice, but funding ends on March 15th, 2024 so do not delay!
We will reimburse rural physicians to obtain the skills they need to enhance patient care close to home. Whether it is advanced training in emergency medicine or obstetrics or specialized courses in ultrasound, this program has been developed for you!
To be eligible, you must have practiced in a rural community for six months of the last year and continue in rural practice for an additional six months. Rural physicians will be reimbursed up to $35,000 to cover training costs, which includes paying $1000/day for lost income, $1000/ day for a locum, $250/ day for a preceptor, up to $200/ day for accommodation and up to $2000 for travel.
You will need a training plan that describes when and how your training will occur, a letter of support from your Chief of Staff or Regional Medicine Director, and your CV. The letter of support should confirm that your training addresses a need in your community.
